Sacred Secrets

This collection of short poems you hold in your hands is a meditative exploration aimed at piercing the senses sweetly and subtly into a space of expansion, contraction and transcendence of themselves. Inspired by ancient Tantric literature and delving into philosophies such as Advaita Vedanta, each one is designed as a constant exercise of awareness and presence to free the mind from the stress and anxiety of thought patterns and self-imposed limitations. Please read carefully, allow words to have the power to move you to stillness and wake you into the profound moment that is here with us now

"Jayānanda is a poet who lives in his art. He is a writer doing something that few writers in the world are doing today: connecting with essence, inviting Spirit, and speaking through ecstatic verse. The poems in this book are ancient, primordial. They will hold you and bless you on this sacred journey of living."

“I plunged into a fathomless sea with the inspired poetry of Jayananda, whose words are a creative fountain of sublime imagery and eloquent contemplation, over-flowing from ecstasy to the mundane. With his concise and earthy style, I'm instantly transported to another exotic location within, a place where the nature of my humanness dances with the inexplicable rhythm of my soul. These poems embody a striking blend of ancient wisdom with a contemporary playful vibration, offering answers to our day-to-day struggles as it calls to us to question what is truly under the covers of this life.”

Love is Taking Off my Mask

Love is taking off my mask;
she is tracing her fingers around the edge of my disguise.

Love is taking off my mask;
she is sliding under the cracks and revealing my shadows.

Love, she is tearing off this mask,
all of the clothes I have worn to the outside world, all of the stories I have ever told.

Love is tearing off this mask, all of the lies I have ever sold, all of the pride I have ever shown.

Love is tearing off this mask,
and into these eyes casts a penetrating gaze as if holy highways were opening from all roads that lead directly into my soul.

Love is tearing off this mask,
and I cannot look away from her gaze.

Love is tearing off this mask, and there is nothing I can do.

Love is tearing off this mask,
and there is nothing left for me to hold on to.

Love is tearing off this mask;
she wants me naked and alone, free of any fear to lay down with her.

Love is tearing off this mask, and she has no care for a final fight.

Love is tearing off this mask;
because she knows what is hidden underneath.

Love is tearing off this mask and she will stop at nothing.

Love is tearing off this mask, and she will stop at nothing until I...

Love is tearing off this mask,
and she will stop at nothing until I be...

Love is tearing off this mask,
and she will stop at nothing until I become.

Love, is tearing off this mask, and she will stop at nothing until I become

Love.

Not Yet

Do not lose faith in humanity.

Not yet.

Not while there is still music

and lips to sing it.

Nor while there are still hands

that craft instruments

and fingers that play

in a type of prayer,

pleading with me:

Do not lose faith in humanity.

Not yet.

Not while there are still lovers

who love each other

with arms that hold

one another.

Not while there are eyes to see

that there are beating hearts

pounding at the door

of the profound,

praying with me:

Do not lose faith in humanity.

Not yet.

Not while there are still children who dance,

who play and teach us

the unspeakable joys

of laughter.

Not while the wisdom of innocence is born

through some unseen windows from beyond

bringing glimpses of a great light

into this world,

illuminating;

Do not lose faith in humanity.

Not yet.

Not while the earth offers us the ground

for our feet to learn how to walk

and to remember

how to dance.

Not while the seasons change with us

and the Sun, Moon & Stars hold a great hope for us

to not lose faith in our humanity.

Not yet.

Not while the nature of our human-being exists

supported by all of the life that surrounds it,

for all that is living and alive

is calling to us:

Please,

do not lose faith in humanity.

Not yet.
